Here are five great reasons traveling with friends enriches your life
Imagine taking your friends on a worldwide vacation group travel style. Okay, maybe you can’t travel the whole world, but country by country, you can make wonderful memories with the people that matter the most to you. Hike up old cities hills to see incredible views of ancient buildings and castles. Get Instagram ready with silly poses in famous places and share culinary delights at charming cafes along the way.
1. Experience New Things Together
The most wonderful part of traveling is trying new things. From street food experiments to breathtaking treks, there are endless firsts. Maybe hiking to snow-capped peaks through a national park is more your style. Every trip is extra special when you take your BFFs with you.
Sharing these feelings of awe and discovery helps keep the connection going. There is no need to worry if you run out of family secrets and travel stories to share. You are comfortable in your quiet space with your friends.
2. Share the Costs
With friends sharing expenses, even high-end travel can be more affordable. Sharing hotel rooms, cars, and tour packages, etc., helps you use your money more effectively. Shared bills make exceptional experiences such as a sunset catamaran ride or a chef’s private cooking class. Group discounts and rates are another savings feature for traveling with your besties.
Pass around the plate and pass around the savings! Shared meals also help the wallet. It is a great way to sample delicious local food.
3. Safety in Numbers
It’s not always easy to try something new, but with the support of your friends, you’ll be able to branch out confidently. Having a group ensures there’s always someone looking out for your stuff at the beach. Your friends are your support system and will be there for emergencies. Need help finding your hotel? Have an injury that requires first aid? You can’t speak a second language to your cab driver? Bring your besties and figure it out together!
4. More Entertainment and Less Stress.
Preparing for a trip on your own can be challenging. It is much easier to split the responsibilities! All of your friends’ circles are going to have different interests, and that makes activity planning fun! Those who love eating can hunt for local delights. Culture lovers can choose which museums or historic places to see. And party animals will seek out the best nightlife.
With suggestions from your BFFs, you will get a variety of interests; you may discover something you would never have otherwise. There is something magical about pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and having your best friends accompany you.
5. You have a shoulder to cry on.
Sometimes we just need an extra shoulder to cry on! Maybe you’re sad, exhausted, homesick or just hungry and you feel like crying. That’s what friends are for! With your BFFs, even the worst experience, such as a red eye flight or being stuck in traffic in India, doesn’t feel quite so bad. That’s when you just look at each other and laugh at that familiar and comfortable laugh you are so used to with one another. You will never be bored.
Traveling with friends, especially in women’s groups, is a growing trend that shows no signs of slowing down. You and your friends can be in totally different spaces in your life but if you get the chance to escape together, it is the perfect opportunity to catch up and get to know each other outside of normal live responsibilities.
Besides the reasons I listed above, you will also create new traditions together. You may even decide to make this a yearly thing! I know I try to do several girl’s trips a year. We love going to national parks and hiking.
I have created a new branch of Storymakers Travel that is just for women-another opportunity for you to make more BFFs! The first trip will be Sept 2025 to Ireland. I am going to be announcing that soon.
So, grab your best friends, your camera and your best walking shoes! Reach out to me and plan the most amazing girl’s trip ever!
Here are some ideas:
1. For domestic travel, Nashville is always a winner. New York City during the holidays would be amazing and if you love nature, Utah is gorgeous!
2. International trips that are great for a quick getaway are: Mexico City. It is an amazing city. I cannot wait to go back. If beaches are what you prefer, then head over to Puerto Vallarta or Cabo. There are so many fabulous all-inclusive options.
3. For longer international trips, Italy, Greece and Ireland are always popular.
No matter where you choose, you will create lifelong memories with the people you love.
