Jamaica Resorts: A Journey Through Time and Style

Hey mon! Val here, your friendly neighborhood info-slinger…

Last week I got to tour ten of Jamaicas all inclusive resorts in Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios. The island has it all. Learning about the country was fun! Lets take a leisurely stroll down memory lane from Jamaica’s resort past until the hip and fun place it is today.

1. The Classic Vibes of the 1960s:

Back in the day, Jamaica was all about that vintage cool. Think Bond movies and cocktail parties. Resorts like Round Hill and Half Moon Bay took center stage, exuding that timeless charm. Sipping a rum punch by the pool, you'd feel like James Bond himself (minus the tux, of course).

2. The Reggae Rhythms of the 1970s:

As Bob Marley's tunes echoed through the air, the '70s brought a whole new vibe to the island. Resorts like Couples Negril embraced the relaxed Rastafarian spirit. Picture this: lounging in a hammock, feeling irie, and watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of red, gold, and green.

3. The All-Inclusive Boom of the 1980s:

The '80s were all about big hair and even bigger vacations. Enter the all-inclusive resorts like Sandals and Hedonism. Unlimited drinks? Check. Gourmet dining? Check. Water sports? Check. You practically needed a checklist just to navigate your buffet options.

4. The Eco-Friendly Escapes of the 2000s:

As we entered the new millennium, eco-consciousness came to the forefront. Resorts like Jake's and GoldenEye made sure that guests could enjoy the beauty of Jamaica without leaving a heavy carbon footprint. It was all about sustainability, man

5. The Modern Luxury of Today:

Now, in the 2020s, Jamaica's resorts have hit their peak of modern luxury. Places like the Trident Hotel and Round Hill (yes, they're still rocking) blend contemporary design with traditional charm. Infinity pools overlooking the ocean? You betcha!

So, whether you're a retro enthusiast, a reggae lover, an all-inclusive addict, an eco-warrior, or just someone who craves modern luxury, Jamaica's resorts have got you covered. It's a little slice of paradise for everyone.

Hope this trip through Jamaica's resort history tickled your funny bone and sparked your wanderlust.

Until next time, keep it breezy, my friend! 🌴😎✈️
